PAUL HERBERT PITTS
Is the founder of Psalms Theatrics Inc. and a native from Illinois.
He holds a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Music Performance/Education-Voice and a minor in Theater Dance at/from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville and currently finishing a Masters in Secondary Fine Arts Administration & Education from the University of Phoenix.
He has taught in the public education system for over ten years as a middle school and high school music, choir and theater director/teacher as well as directing many school drama productions such as West Side Story, Into the Woods, Xanadu Jr., The Wiz, Starmites, Hairspray Jr., Disney's The Lion King Jr., Seussical the Musical and Little Shop of Horrors to name a few. Before moving to Indiana in 2023, Paul had performed in many professional and local community theater productions in St. Louis/Metro East IL.
Some of his theatrical credits include, You're A Good Man Charlie Brown (Snoopy), Hairspray (Seaweed), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat (Judah), The Wiz (Tinman), A Chorus Line (Richie) with the St. Louis Hawthorne Players, Pippin (Leading Player) with Summer Stage Theater, Shrek the Musical (Donkey) with Hard Road Theater Company, Lost in the Stars (Jared) with St. Louis Union Avenue Opera Company, and choreographed Bye! Bye! Birdie with Alton Little Theater as well as served as music director for the SIUE Youth Summer Musicals. Some of his favorites were Willy Wonka Jr. and Broadway's Peter Pan to name a few. He has also worked as a voice teacher at COCA and STAGES St. Louis.
In 2019, Paul Herbert was awarded the Community Fine Arts of Education Award by the 100 Black Men of Alton for his dedication to young people in the arts and education and the quality of their excellent work of performance. He currently is a theater teacher for acting and voice at Civic Theater in Carmel, IL along with being the Director of Music at Eastern Star Church.
Paul Herbert knows that his purpose is to share God's word of hope, love, joy and peace through writing these musical productions and bringing people from all different walks of life to be a part, enjoy, and see these theatrical productions.
